Science Fiction or Real Life?

Once upon a time I created a class that considered some pretty far out ideas. Some of these "out there" ideas included narratives of post-apocalyptic zombies born from a super virus that took over NYC. That narrative, I am Legend at one time seemed impossible. But, today it really doesn't seem so far fetched. As time has gone by I have found that many of the narratives in this course seem to hit a little closer to home. Time Travel may feel like a fantasy but these narratives give us a chance to think about science fiction and how their stories teach us about our world. The connection, for me, has never been stronger.
